Authors
Malavath Thirupathi
Abstract
A vital aspect of accomplishing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is community involvement. Development projects are inclusive, sustainable, and sensitive to local needs when local populations are actively involved. In order to empower marginalized groups, strengthen local institutions, mobilize communities, and advance social justice, social workers are essential. Their expertise in capacity building, policy implementation, community organization, and advocacy helps close the gap between community needs and government initiatives. This essay addresses the multifaceted role of social workers in promoting sustainable development and looks at the importance of community involvement in accomplishing the SDGs. Additionally, it addresses the difficulties social workers have and makes suggestions for improving community involvement to hasten the SDGs.
